GATE 2012 CHANGES

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a comprehensive skill test of candidates who are from engineering background and is conducted in joint collaboration with Indian Institute of Science with all seven Indian Institute of Technology. This is one of the most competitive exams for selecting candidates for engineering post graduate courses in all leading engineering colleges in the country conducted on behalf of National Coordination Board for admission to engineering post graduation.

Application Process:

In GATE 2012, candidates need to register and fill the application Online only by accessing the respective zonal GATE website of IISc and seven IITs. The application process will be considered as complete only when a print out of the filled Online application is received by the respective GATE office along with all important and necessary documents, on or before 24th October, 2011. Sale of application forms through banks and GATE office counters has been discontinued.

Downloadable Admit Card:
Now the candidates will not receive Admit card by post, from this year the GATE authorities has discontinue this service. Candidates can download the admit card from the zonal GATE website from 2nd January, 2012.

Use of black ink ball point pen:
The use of pencil to darken the available options in the answer sheets has been scraped from this year. Now all the candidates are suppose to use only black ink ball pen for darkening the answer options in the GATE 2012 answer sheet.

ONLINE examination in two additional papers:
In GATE 2011, the papers with codes GG, TF, AE and MN had ONLINE examination. In GATE 2012, two additional papers, AR and AG, will also have ONLINE examination. The ONLINE examination will be conducted in two sessions on Sunday, January 29, 2012.

Forenoon session (09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs): AR, GG and TF.
Afternoon session (14:00 hrs to 17:00 hrs): AE, AG and MN.

Numerical answer type questions in ONLINE papers:
In the ONLINE papers (AE, AG, AR, GG, MN and TF), the question paper will consist of questions of multiple choice type and questions of numerical answer type. For multiple choice type questions, each question will have four choices for the answer. For numerical answer type questions, each question will have a number as the answer. The number of numerical answer type questions may vary between 5 and 10 in each question paper.

Pre-final year students:
Pre-final year students are not eligible to write GATE 2012.

IIT JEE PREPARATION REVISITED

Yes buddies if you have missed this years online or offline application forms then now you cannot do it .

PLACEMENT from IIT's

I have seen most of the times that people are ore conscious for the placement that how much did an iitian got from the famous companies visiting the institute rather concentrating on their own future .This is i think just a bullshit to measure any institute in respect of its placement.
But this is definitely gonna inspire some or what to the IIT- JEE aspirant
There is no doubt that IITians get some of the finest placements from this country
This year IIT kharagpur graduate grabbed more than 70 lakhs from the most hyped company(i must not use the term hyped because it worth what it has) FACEBOOK .
But this is not the case that facebook is only hiring from iit's .Facebook has also given more than 25 lakhs to some nit's students .
Apart from these some of the students from iit delhi also grabbed the package of more than 50 lakhs .

IIM INDORE undergraduate

From this year IIM Indore is going to start the course for undergraduates so that the students who are solely having their plan to move to entrepreneurship field should not follow other steps like engineering and commerce before MBA .This step from the iim indore will definitely going to help students in their future .
